Suns of Europe

This Summer, one child out of three won't go on holidays

ESAN contributes to the success of Secours Populaire Français 2010 operation "Suns of Europe". Almost 1,500 children coming from different European countries will have the opportnuity for the first time in their life to go on holidays, moreover abroad, and will be hosted by volunteers from Secours Populaire Français for some days in France this summer. They will be brought together with French children from the same background on 19th of August in Paris.

Changing lives – Cementing futures

Cementaprise was established in July 2005, as both a Social Enterprise and Social Firm, with a target to help 135 within a 2year period to break the barriers to learning, employment and to engage as active citizens using the construction sector and the vehicle.

To date Cementaprise has broken all its targets having in 2 years worked with over 700 candidates, of which over 30% are ex offenders. Cementaprise success is based on an effective holistic rolling programme which has supported over 20% of candidates into sustainable employment.

November 2006: the Northern Refugee Centre

Women conversation club The Northern Refugee Centre is currently developing unique work around the issue of access to childcare for refugee and asylum seeker women. It is currently seeking funding for a research and policy project leading to the development of best practice guidance and briefings on provision of and access to childcare for refugees and asylum seekers in the context of wider integration. It is also currently looking for European partners for its work on access to childcare for refugees and asylum seekers.
